Pressure Differential Gauge

Digga’s Pressure Differential Gauge accurately measures the hydraulic pressure (torque) being applied through the hydraulic motor and gearbox of your torque head, preventing equipment damage, reducing maintenance costs and improving overall safety and efficiency.

To suit excavators, skid steer loaders, and telehandlers.

Digga’s Pressure Differential Gauge offers a more accurate way of measuring torque than traditional methods.

When screw anchoring, an accurate torque reading is required to ensure the pile/pier has been screwed in at the correct specification, as a specific torque amount is required for each application.

Traditionally, torque is calculated by a single sensor located at the hydraulic pump (A) in the excavator.

Unfortunately this is not accurate as pressure is lost as oil travels up the boom, through the drive unit, and back again long the boom to the excavator. Pressure readings can be out by as much as 15-20% compared to actual working pressure.

Digga’s Pressure Differential Gauge comprises two sensors— the first sensor is located on the supply line at the entry to the drive unit (B), the second sensor is located on the return line where oil leaves the torque head (C)— resulting in ≤ ± 0.5% accuracy.

This kit can only operate on a supply voltage of 12 -32 V DC. The digital display units in the HDA 5500 series are micro processor-controlled and are designed for control panel mounting.

Up to 12-15% more accurate than traditional torque measurement methods

A micro processor calculates the actual usable pressure using the two sensors in the Digga Pressure Differential Gauge, resulting in a reading up to 12-15% more accurate than traditional single pressure gauge systems. There are two pressure transducers fitted to the supply and return ports of the hydraulic block valve within the hood.

Easy to use

This pressure is displayed on the digital screen in BAR or PSI depending on the option chosen at the time of purchase.

The user can cross-reference this to a supplied torque chart to obtain the equivalent torque reading in Nm.

Reference your torque requirements

Using a supplied torque chart, simply cross reference the reading on the in-cab display to the torque chart to find the theoretical *installation torque.

(*)The system does not take into consideration the inefficiencies of the gearbox and motor as these vary from machine to machine, depending on pump setup, age, service history etc.
