Digga releases HALO alignment system.

Using your auger drive efficiently takes two-people, with one person dedicated to guiding the machine operator to ensure the hole is drilled straight or on the required angle. The spotter generally uses a level to check the angle of the auger to ensure the machine operator is guided to drill a plumb hole. But surely there would be an easier way that saves time and money?

This is where the impressive Australian owned company who has been manufacturing in Queensland for over 40 years comes in. If you haven’t caught on, we’re talking about the market leader in earth moving attachments, Digga Australia and their new and impressive HALO Auger Alignment System.

The future of drilling is here

Digga started operating using a telephone box in a Brisbane Caravan Park and experienced extreme progressions throughout their first decade of operation. As their range of products increased, the manufacturing of planetary gear boxes was brought here to Australia as Stewart Wright, Founder and Owner, continued to build a strong team of expert business and manufacturing professionals around him. During this decade of rapid growth, Mr Wright heavily improved Digga’s internal procedures and processes with the introduction of computerised machining (CNC machines), robotic welding and advanced steel cutting equipment to the production process.

Seeing locally based R&D teams is something now unheard of in Australia, showing Digga’s commitment to keeping Australian jobs local.

Once Digga became an established earthmoving attachment company within Australia, Digga began to export their high-quality products overseas, gaining reputation and repour. Digga first exported to New Zealand and Europe in 1997 followed shortly by the United States in 1999. In 2006 Digga constructed a $5 million purpose built, state-of-the-art facility in Yatala, located between Brisbane and the Gold Coast in one of the high industrial areas of Queensland.

Digga pushes on

5 years ago in 2016, an electrical fault sparked a devastating fire which wreaked havoc on the factory leaving it completely unusable in a few minutes. Within a few hours staff members began arriving for their shifts, greeted by the site of the factory engulfed by the fire. Once fire crews had assessed the damage the team got to the clean-up and were back and running in temporary spaces in just a matter of days, having only lost a total of 4 working days due to the emergency.

State-of-the-art build

The following twelve months saw Digga completely rebuild their 12,500sq/m factory into a state-of-the-art manufacturing plant equipped with the latest technology and machinery, making them one of the most advanced plants in Australia. Digga bounced back better than ever and are now 40 years on from their humble Caravan Park beginnings with well-established sites in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, United Kingdom, New Zealand and the United States totalling over 450 dealers worldwide.

“Digga now sells over 80 different attachment ranges, exports to over 50 countries and employs nearly 300 employees in our Australian facility and over 350 worldwide,” proudly boasted Alan Wade, Digga Australia’s CEO. “From initial design, to sourcing raw material, to manufacturing the end product, Digga has always been uncompromising in their dedication to providing the highest quality, competitively priced attachments that are made super durable for Australian conditions and for the Australian market. Digga has built a reputation based around quality and innovation for almost four decades,” Alan stated. “The Digga name is synonymous with the earthmoving industry, but what really sets us apart is quality. We see auger drives come in for service that we manufactured over 20 years ago.”
